I had been to my orthopedic surgeon many times, as well as a specialist @ Vanderbilt......all I kept hearing was "yep...it's arthritis." I absolutely knew I had arthritis but I also knew enough to know that what I was experiencing was not my usual ankle pain and it was most defiantly something more. Dr. Roland took the time to LISTEN to me.....and after ONE VISIT and his treatment plan I was PAIN FREE. It has been six weeks since I first saw Dr. Roland and I literally worried I might not ever be able to walk normal again prior to seeing him. Yesterday I hiked for the first time again after six weeks. I am SO VERY GRATEFUL!! I can't describe the feeling of being listened to ..... the overwhelming relief that it brings when you feel like someone is actually taking the time to try and help you instead of rushing you along. Dr. Roland was so caring and sympathetic to my complaints of pain and frustration. When someone mentions "bedside manner" there isn't a more perfect example than Dr. Roland! I did not feel like I had been waiting long at all in the room on my initial visit - he even opened the door between seeing patients and introduced himself and just wanted to apologize for the wait and to let me know he would be with me shortly. Such professionalism and just caring qualities in Dr. Roland. His staff is also so very nice, caring and professional. The office is so clean and nice and modern. I have already referred two other friends to Dr. Roland. I would see him any day over my orthopedic surgeon. 5 stars for this doctor and his office staff! CLASS ACT!!

Dr Roland was patient and built a relationship first. Then Kylan trusted him to do the procedure in office rather than outpatient surgery. It was a miracle. They talked about cool cars, including the model mustang Dr Roland had and of course the model mustang Kylan had to get just like it. I can’t say enough about the staff at FAST. Sarah (who had Kylan smiling just walking in the door), Jenna (Kylans favorite 😉) and Brittany (who has the patience of a saint!). This team works well together and made our visit like visiting friends. Dr Roland is one in a million! He took our difficult case and turned it into a final checkup where we all enjoyed peach CFA milkshakes Kylan wanted to bring to celebrate. Omg! Dr. Derrick Roland was marvelous. I went in for a diabetic ulcer wound care, nails trimmed, and callouses cut off. He did amazing/ perfect job. He got right... read more down on my Great (big) toe and cut them all off. No one else that I went had done that. It looks like a real toe again. The feeling of walking w/o pain on that toe is amazing. I will keep going to him. He made a huge impression on my fiancé too. He would take me to go to wound care (don't get me wrong, I love them girls) but they would just tell me to put lotion on it and it will soften it up. Now, I have it looking like a toe. My fiancé watched what the doctor all did for my toe (btw the same toe had the ulcer on it). After we left, he took 1 look at me and said this is where you coming to for my feet. I will be recommending him to everyone. He is so down to earth and easy to talk to too. Also, great to joke around with. I rate the staff and Dr. Roland more than 5 stars in the Morristown office. In my book they get 10 stars.
