Dr. Derrick Roland

Dr. Derrick Roland is a board qualified, fellowship-trained podiatric surgeon with specialty in modern surgical techniques, including all aspects of elective, trauma, reconstructive, limb salvage, and minimally invasive. Dr. Roland is a devoted patient advocate, whose approaches center around both patient education and the latest evidence-based research. It is important to Dr. Roland that his patients understand their health and select the individualized treatment option that best fits their unique needs and lifestyles. Dr. Roland prides himself on his ability to discuss complex foot and ankle problems with patients in a concise and easy to understand way.

Dr. Roland was born and raised in southern Indiana.  During the course of his medical education in Chicago, Dr. Roland received numerous academic scholarships and graduated summa cum laude. In addition, Dr. Roland was the recipient of the Highest Proficiency in Scholarship Award, the college’s highest honor.

Dr. Roland completed an intensive 3-year surgical residency at Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, Florida, where he served as chief resident and collaborated on multiple peer reviewed scientific publications. After residency training, Dr. Roland pursued a fellowship in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in order to fine tune and hone his clinical skills and surgical knowledge from a large and diverse group of practitioners in Louisville, Kentucky. Lastly, Dr. Roland intends to use his experience as a stepping stone in order to start his own post-graduate training program in the near future. As a result of his diverse and comprehensive training, Dr. Roland is uniquely qualified in all aspects of foot and ankle care.

In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the beautiful state of Tennessee, live music, fishing, restoring cars, and attending sporting events.

  • American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS), Qualified in both Forefoot and Rearfoot Reconstructive and Ankle Surgery

Kim Gebhart, PA-C

Kim Gebhart is a certified physician assistant with many years of experience in both podiatry and advanced wound care. In addition, Kim has experience working as a hospitalist and primary care physician assistant. As an active individual herself, she is passionate about helping her patients stay healthy and mobile through comprehensive foot and ankle care. She prides herself on being proactive to help patients avoid problems before they even begin or worsen. Kim has experience working in many different settings, including rural and suburban settings, as well as providing inpatient and outpatient care. Regardless of the setting, her top priority is ensuring patients receive the most thorough and highest quality care possible and that her patients feel comfortable asking questions, so that they have a clear understanding of their diagnosis and treatment plan. Her additional qualifications include being a certified Wound Care Specialist through the American Board of Wound Management and a certified personal trainer through the National Council on Strength and Fitness.  

Kim is also a full-time faculty member for the Physician Assistant program at South College and is excited to spend time during the week with a specialty and organization she is passionate about. She is conversationally fluent in Spanish from living abroad and is elated when she can communicate with Spanish speaking patients.

When not at work, Kim enjoys running, mountain biking with her husband, teaching group fitness classes, and trying to keep up with her two young, energetic daughters.
